He should've expected something like this sooner. Between Obie, the media, the overall political climate between various PMCs on earth and drifting around the colonies it really was only a matter of time before things came to a head and diplomatic overtures were abandoned entirely. He'd been ready to dig in with his father, build as much as he could to protect people, their people, but Howard had something else in mind.

Wouldn't be the first time he's pulled something like this on Tony, probably won't be the last, but ultimately he can't even be too upset.

Sure he'd rather be home in his own lab with his own music rattling through his bones as he cracks open all the vulnerabilities and coding backdoors of the ore common (most) models of mobile suits to help the Rhodey and the militia- but threats had been made, apparently.

Tony doesn't know, he hadn't quite been paying attention. It was at the tail end of a four day engineering bender that Howard took him by the shoulders, gave him a hug, and herded him into a transport. He passed out in the jump seat before he could really ask any questions, belongings and portable server packed in, ready and waiting. Apparently the last detail to be stowed was him.

Doesn't know where the station he'd been sent to was, doesn't know who's in charge, doesn't even particularly care. No one briefs him no one answers questions he doesn't ask because he's too busy reading the handwritten (sentimental of Howard) note explaining what his father wanted, needed, him to do. Considering how infrequently Howard asked him anything like this and he left Jarvis in his birdlike hover drone Tony made when he was twelve, he's not about to argue.

Keep his head down.

Build and innovate for people that can actually help.

Don't let them know he's a Stark. How long that's going to last he has no idea, but then Howard did his best to keep Tony away from the media unless he wanted to be seen and that wasn't ever his bag.

Walked to a worktable, given space to get to work, and a tablet on everyone he'll be working with. Steve Rogers, some sort of tactical genius, Thor- that's it, just Thor- prince or lord or some kind of space representative from the Aesir station, Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton; scouts, Bruce Banner who he had heard of for his work in radiation shielding and rather insane proposals on how to convert ambient radiation into propulsion for Mobile Suits, and James Barnes- another scout of some kind. He, Shuri, and Bruce make up the engineering team- another name he's familiar with, someone he's shot ideas to back and forth over the net, and the rest are pilots for...some kind of project.

Face deep in the tablet with all the data he'll need to not look like an idiot child next to Shuri- he goes in search of Coffee, Jarvis perched on his shoulder, a silvery blue metallic bird perfectly still no matter how Tony moves.

It didn't end well. It didn't end how he'd hoped.

The world ruined, money meaningless, resources precious and safety damn near impossible to find? He went to ground with Pepper, Happy, and Rhodey. Set up a network of safehouses interconnected via underground tunnel to dead drops in the area, trying to set up a support system for the local pops of civilization that linger. It's not much of a life, but it's a life.

A poorly timed raid lost them Pepper and Happy- taken to a bus or a camp, he doesn't know, but they were gone. Another separation six months ago lost him Rhodey and he's limited his time aboveground since. Sticking to his houses, his tunnels, and focusing on the work. It's all that matters, finding ways to scrape together whatever he can to help other people survive. He didn't live through the Ten Rings, through New York for everything to end like this.

Billionaire Laughably irrelevent in the end of the world- but he does have a fat stack of resources from early scrounging and stockpiling in the beginning of the conflict- enough to make fabrication and trade worthwhile.

Playboy No longer a thing. He's lost his people, has forgotten how to be a person, more or less, in the time he's spent in near complete isolation (Jarvis keeps him company), social moores aren't completely foreign but- useless to him.

Philanthropist If someone stumbles into his warren? He gives them food, shelter, support. If someone tries to contact The Mechanic for tools, for repairs, supplies, anything? He answers. The means are limited but he does what he can to make life a little less awful for anyone he meets, free of charge.

The tunnels that connect his various safehouse are quite cavelike. Tony doesn't love this, but needs must. Most often he's working on stealth tech/weapons that aren't made out of metal, pipedream projects of ways to ruin The Judges day in various creative ways.

His current favorite is a spitebomb to rust out their everything.

Sometimes there are holes in the space-time continuum. Sometimes an experiment happens or there's a space portal or there's metaphysical shenaniganary- Tony's honestly given up trying to keep track of the millions of ways a person can slip sideways two steps to the left, right, or backward and end up somewhere entirely but not quite like home. Finding himself here had been, well, odd. Finding a way back was paramount but after a day in a lab (with himself, what a marvel is that? He's just as brilliant and as frustrating as everyone says, even to himself) well aware that a path home is imminent or at least possible? Tony's able to kick back in the offered accommodations, enjoy a glass of scotch and marvel at the similarities/differences between his life, his world, his home- and this one.

Nevermind looking into the interpersonal relationships on display. Actuality where, to him, he'd seen potential if- the timing was right. If there was less baggage. If so many variables flipped at different points. Back home? It's moot.

Here it's safe to sit back and watch a relationship he thinks he could have had, were his life and time and circumstances different. He's not so good a man he can't admit to himself he would be a little (a lot) envious of the chemistry, the camaraderie, the understanding. The...whatever it is these two have going on. An equation perfectly balanced until it isn't, pitching one way or the other and settling back to a harmonious neutral, infinitely complicated and-

But thou shalt not covet- but he's not religious and it's safe, in his own mind, to covet a little. Wonder. Flirt, maybe, like breathing because this Tony is enough like him but enough not like him to keep it from being weird, this Steve seems older, more steady, and is solidly more...solid, than the Rogers from his own reality. What's the harm? It's not like he'll ever find his way back here. Not like anything will ever come of it.

Genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist. Tony is a futurist ever looking forward to potential problems or deficiencies in the future and inventing whatever he can to solve those problems, has the the financial backing to make them into a possibility, the media personae to get the right attention on his work, and time leftover to make sure the disenfranchised and people in need benefit from them as well. Before anything else, before being Iron Man, he is this. A man looking ahead to solve problems even if he's the only one that can see them coming. He's focused on moving forward, learning from past mistakes, and building a better life for himself and the people around him even if he has to do it from the ground up- but this doesn't prevent him from getting so caught up in the work, the problem, or the solution he's certain will work out in the end that he's blind to potential complications. When he's locked onto something it's easy for him to focus on it to the exclusion of all else; which leads to engineering binges or cyclical, obsessive tinkering to perfect a single idea that may or may not end up marketable depending on what it is he'd been trying to solve. It's easy for him to be so wound up in looking ahead that he misses what happens around him, the current concerns falling to the wayside in favor of the larger picture. It's difficult for people to know he's troubled, to know what's actually going on in his mind because he's walled off emotionally, having layers upon layers of defense mechanisms to prevent himself from being harmed, despite how empathetic and caring he actually is. Better hide that squishy center, Stark Men are Made of Iron, etc.

A large chunk of his current motivations are wrapped up in a desperate need to atone, to make up for past negligence. While developing bigger, faster, more lethal weapons for SI he hadn't paid enough attention to the business side of things, it wasn't his life, he hadn't cared. All he'd wanted to do was keep building, keep tinkering on the side, and keep the public opinion of him more or less even. During his captivity in Afghanistan he had a sudden, visceral awakening to not only what his weapons are capable of, but how they were being used. Firsthand experience with what his negligence has allowed pushed Tony to hold himself accountable for what he was building and the system he was a part of. He can't erase war but he can make it more difficult to kill innocent people. The entirety of his choice to become Iron Man boils down to Yensin's compassion and dying wish. 'Don't waste it.' Having wasted so much of his life as a playboy that paid only half a mind to the consequences of his actions, the determination to take responsibility (more than he probably ought) for what he helped perpetuate directly shapes the creation of Iron Man and his choice to abandon the cue cards and stand in front of the press, admitting it's him. He hid for so long while other people ran the business, happy to live in his workshop building. This is one thing he'll stand up and say he created, he did, and take responsibility for what comes of it for good or ill.

Accountability matters, he holds himself accountable for every dollar of collateral damage and every person hurt by his carelessness (through hyperfocusing on other issues or having fear induced tunnel vision, rash knee jerk emotional reactions to challenges, and demons he's created throughout his life) and tries to push forward to make sure he doesn't make the same mistakes twice. Where he used to build for his ego or build for profit he builds, now, to protect himself, the people closest to him, and the world as best he can as a man with limited time if not resources. He is driven to find a way to protect the world from what's coming, constantly aware of a clock ticking down without a solid idea of when that deadline will be rolling through and it's agonizing not knowing. And somehow, even if he figures it out? He knows he won't be enough.

TONY

Genius-Level Intellect: Stark is one of the smartest humans in the world, surpassing even his late father Howard Stark, while rivaled only by fellow geniuses like Bruce Banner, Stephen Strange, Hank Pym, Shuri and Helen Cho, with Thanos, who easily deluded Iron Man into believing Loki was unaided in his invasion while in actuality he had much of his resources from Thanos, being the only one to outclass him. As a result, Stark is known by the nickname "The Da Vinci of Our Time", and despite initially being deemed unfit for the Avengers Initiative, Nick Fury and Black Widow still respected Stark's genius enough for him to be recruited as a consultant for S.H.I.E.L.D.

Indeed, Obadiah Stane's group of well-equipped scientists failed to replicate the miniaturized Arc Reactor, while multiple world governments similarly failed to replicate Stark's Iron Man armors with the Feebles. Stark is equally brilliant in software and holographic engineering, with his custom-built mansion being highly technology-integrated and wired to be run through his personal AI assistant, J.A.R.V.I.S., whom Stark created from scratch. Indeed, Stark was even able to give a lecture on integrated circuits while drunk to the point that most other men, according to Ho Yinsen, wouldn't have been able to stand.

Master Scientist: A exceptional scientific prodigy, Tony Stark is ingeniously resourceful, knowledgeable, and brilliant in many different fields of science, particularly physics, but also computer science, chemistry, and neuroscience, having graduated summa cum laude from MIT at age seventeen. Hence, he was able to attach an Arc Reactor to his chest in order to save his life, to synthesize a previously unknown element discovered by his father Howard Stark, and to understand Erik Selvig's thermonuclear astrophysics notes on the Tesseract overnight. Stark, however, notably admits to Bruce Banner surpassing him in the fields of radiophysics, particle collisions, and bio organics.

Master Hacker: Stark is an extremely skilled hacker, as he had managed to crack the Pentagon's firewall on a dare, while still in high school. As an adult, Stark successfully used J.A.R.V.I.S. to hack into the S.H.I.E.L.D. database and learn of Phase 2.

Master Businessman: At the age of 21, Stark took over Stark Industries due to his parents' having died in a tragic car accident, thereby becoming the youngest CEO of a Fortune 500 Company in history. Since then, Stark has helped the company grow, and gain more business partners, with Stark Industries eventually becoming the largest tech conglomerate in the world under his leadership. Stark is therefore extremely well-respected in the business world, able to command people's attention when he speaks on economic matters by virtue of the fact that he is savvy enough to have, over the years, built up Stark Industries into the premier weapons supplier to the US military for years. He is known for having his employees' loyalty, as well as his impeccable business ethics. However, upon his return, he now strives to be environmentally responsible in his businesses such as turning away from making weapons. Nick Fury also notably recruited Stark as a business consultant for S.H.I.E.L.D.

Expert Tactician: Stark, while a somewhat brash tactician, has every so often made many split-second tactical decisions that have either saved people's lives or overpowered his adversaries, though he usually has J.A.R.V.I.S.', and later F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s assistance in this. This is notable when Stark swiftly saved Gulmira from the Ten Rings, when he defeated Iron Monger with Pepper Potts' covert help, when he had War Machine use their combined repulsor blasts to defeat Whiplash, when he personally relocated a nuclear weapon sent by the World Security Council into outer space destroying the Chitauri Command Center effectively ending their invasion. Stark also uses his mechanical ingenuity to rectify his mistakes of the past to prepare for the future by upgrading his armors. Nonetheless, Stark's tactics are usually brash and lack subtlety, as he mentions to Captain America upon their first meeting that his plan of attack concerning Thor was simply "attack."

Leadership: Stark, despite preferring to work on his own and not being as skilled a leader as Captain America, has proven to be a fairly capable leader when the situation calls for it.

Martial Artist: Stark is trained in unarmed combat by Phil Coulson and Happy Hogan, and has become quite formidable on his own without the Iron Man armor when the situation demands it. Hence, he was able to hold his own against War Machine, a Lieutenant Colonel Air Force Combat Pilot, during their armored brawl, despite himself being drunk at the time, and ultimately losing the fight. He was also able to battle Thor almost to a standstill for a time while using the Mark VI armor, though only because Mjølnir enhanced the armor to over 400% capacity and Thor was holding back.

Marksman: Although he usually uses his armor, in some situations Stark is able to wield handguns with ease, using them to escape from A.I.M. operatives while not having access to his armor.

Pilot: Stark demonstrates a strong understanding of aerodynamics and air crafts, allowing him to perform complex maneuvers while flying in the Iron Man armor while being chased by F-22 Raptors. His aptitude also extends to ground-based vehicles, allowing him to efficiently drive in high-speed racing competitions such as the Monaco GP.

Multilingualism: Stark speaks his native English and some French, along with a little Spanish, Italian, and Latin. He can also speak Dari.

THE SUIT

With the exception of the Mark I Iron Man armor, almost all of the Iron Man suits share a common design and capability set. The suit is a powered exoskeleton with armored plating, capable of enhancing the wearer's strength, speed, agility, and endurance. The suit is powered by a miniaturized Arc Reactor, either using the one surgically installed in Tony Stark's chest or else built into the chest-piece of the armor itself.

The later model armors' helmet features a retractable visor that projected a holographic AR displays to the wearer. The features of the helmet roughly resemble a human face, with eyepieces and a mouth slit showing the point where the faceplate meets the jaw.

The armor's primary weapon, as well as means of propulsion, are repulsor nodes built into the hands and feet. The repulsors in the boots provide the majority of the propulsion force while the nodes in the armor's gauntlets are used as flight stabilizers. Due to the intense heat and concussive pressure produced by the repulsors, the ones built into the gauntlets are also used as weapons, capable of neutralizing or killing enemies depending on the intensity projected. When needed, the primary repulsor built into the armor's breastplate can be charged to deliver a powerful, destructive unibeam blast.

It isn't always this bad. Sometimes he could power through whatever caught his attention, focus on the project and not the stimuli, lend his tunnel vision to the wires he's soldiering or the code he's writing. It's how he got by for so long without an official guide, relying on Pepper or Jarvis to call him out of a fugue. Rhodey helped in college but Rhodey's off doing his own War Machine thing and that's fine? It's fine. Pepper's been able to poke him when Jarvis' voice wasn't enough, even Dum-E can literally shake him out of it. When all he had to worry about was the lab, the code, and public appearances? He could get by.

But with the team? With the addition of new people in his previously curated space, people that'd notice, people that had entire skillsets surrounding the concept of being observant? Hiding it got difficult. Shaking himself out became near impossible, it's not his fault, there's suddenly four more sources of conversation and stimuli he totally planned for (no, he didn't, this is fucking terrible), and sometimes he catches himself wondering at the lilt and rise of Banner's voice when he's explaining something, the way light refracts off the red in Natasha's hair, how damn blue Steve's eyes are. If, when, he catches himself throwing that hyperfocus into a project helps but- now that he's piloting the armor and covering more than just himself? It's getting out of hand.

If they're on a mission and Jarvis can't shake him out of it? Someone'll get hurt. That's on him.

All the more reason for him to us this hyperfocus to...research hyperfocus, again. Try to breathe through the fugue in round sixty three of 'how do I handle this without a guide' and so far? Nil.

Shocker of the century: We're friends. Buddies. I trust this guy with my life, with Bruce's life, with Peter's life. He's a genuinely good guy and, maybe, I can forgive some of the shit Steve pulled if this is who he was protecting. I'd burn the world down for him if it came to it too. I probably won't have to, but. He's funny. He's fucked up. He's as bitter and frustrated as I am and I can't think of anything he'd ask or demand that I'd say no to.

Someone I never thought I'd see again- death is kind of permanent, you know? She's...everything I remembered and everything Howard told his stories about all wrapped up in one petite, powerful bundle. She's trying to take care of me and that feels weird, I'm beyond past needing it but maybe she needs to mind me? I don't know, I'm not going to ask. I'll let her because I missed her so damn much.

One good thing about being here- we get to talk. I get to hear her thoughts on my work, on my work ethic- it's not the same as Howard's approval or having my family here but- I trust her. And I know it's safe to trust her. Nothing will shake that.

He's alive. I thought he was gone but here, for months he's been alive and dealing with everything on his own like a champ because he's a surprisingly resilient kid- but at the end of the day? He's still a kid. He should get to still be a kid, even if we're far away from home or his friends and family.

He's older and younger than me at the same time. Not how Steve is but- apparently he was ninety something back home before he got dragged here and popped right into a 30 something body. All the wisdom of his older self in a body at it's prime and- that has me a little jealous. Not enough to resent him for it- he's... I don't know how he keeps going. He gets it. The weight of legacy. Of all the people I expected to roll out of the fountain? This hasn't been one of them. It's- well. A relief. On the one hand I'd been told he was okay but seeing is believing and he's fine. What skills does your character bring to the situation?

Tony is, above all else, an engineer. A mechanical genius who's capable of looking ahead and developing tech that seems impossible to most of his peers in the current and is equally familiar with the bare bones fundamentals of design and fabrication to get from point A to point B. Building things, engineering, reverse engineering, forging, design and development- that's all in his wheelhouse. Designing and building better tools, tech, defenses and weaponry, making farming more efficient and effective, bringing the overall tech level up to something a little more advanced to make things easier on the other villagers so they can focus on the mystery of what's actually going on.

He's a quick thinker, capable of improvising and developing weapons from commonly found substances in his surroundings, his chemical, coding, and mechanical skills are second to only Shuri in the MCU. Beyond that his capacity for absorbing new information for application within a very short period of time could be useful for figuring out wtf is any of the native tech- or finding applications for native flora/fauna/secretions/etc.

Tony's a futurist, looking ahead to see what's coming down the pipeline, attempting to anticipate the needs and issues that are on their way so he can prepare people now before they become a problem; he's got a capacity for leadership that he only dips his toes into on occasion, content to take a back seat to a more qualified party if he feels one is about- happy to throw in and support said party if they need the backup. He's a soundingboard and a lateral thinker, trying to find third, fifth, sixth options that all end in the safest and most satisfactory solution for everyone involved. Experience with the wild and weird gives him a solid perspective for, well, the wild and weird and his capacity for curiosity, his endless drive to understand and know? Can have him seeking out to explore the island for more resources, for more uses of what they've already got on hand, for a better, safer life for the other villagers.

While not comfortable with empathy and compassion, he has it, feels it, and tries to act on it though the execution of his attempts to comfort or support can come out skewed. But he tries. He's doggedly determined when he's set himself on a course and for all that he can get tunnel vision and step on what's in front of him on the way to that better, brighter future? He can and will course correct in what he feels is the overall group's best interest.

Why did you choose this specific character for 6I, and how do you picture them fitting into the game?

I saw the character want ad for him!

And after the everything that was Civil War and Infinity War- Tony needs some relatively uncomplicated peace- or semi-complicated madness and mystery that isn't something that puts the weight of half the universe on his shoulders. A relatively fresh start and a chance to dial all the way back to his roots as an inventor, mechanic, engineer, blacksmith; to not have to worry about political fallout and Public Relations, being the face of anything but himself? It'll be a relief. It'll give him a chance to process everything that's happened to him, give him solid direction without dumping him in a world with quite so many shades of grey, and an opportunity to be useful. It'll be a chance to be a productive member of society without stigma of his past actions tainting anything he offers.

I'm hoping that he can settle in as a guy that can help develop tools and tech (within the allowed parameters) to not only give himself a sense of use, but to help people find creative and workable solutions to handling the batshit insanity that is the native flora and fauna of the planet. Maybe tip back into his innate curiosity and inventive stages like he was before the Avengers became a thing and start building not out of fear but to make people's lives better, safer, and maybe a lot more fun.

How do you imagine your character will survive in 6I, and in what ways will they contribute to the settlement, if any?

While not a hunter, tracker, or even much of a camper- Tony's a mechanic. An engineer. He looks at problems with a long eye to see what the immediate concerns are and what the long term issues could be and works from there when putting together a solution- like more tools and tech for the villages, defenses against the crazy things that live on the island, and weapons if pressed. His usual reluctance kind of doesn't apply to living on a desertedish island full of things that'll kill people if they aren't careful. Trying to divine the hows and whats of things will have his curiosity- you don't just have a random settlement without a purpose, so something's up. Digging through data to find a pattern, find their purpose, and figure out what they're supposed to do with themselves other than survive? A long term priority. In the meantime he'll try to make sure everyone's well equipped to handle life on the island by providing tools and developing something close to more efficient tech. Better living through technology is his tagline, after all.

How will your character react to...

Being separated, possibly permanently, from loved ones and their previous life, including loss of powers, if applicable?

Considering Tony's canonpoint it's roughly where he is already, isolated on Titan, wounded, certain of nothing except the fact that he and everything he tried to build to protect earth failed in the most absolute way possible. It's his worst fears realized and the only thing to do is move forward. He has no idea if anyone he cares about on earth is still alive, if anyone he knows was spared that snap and no idea of how to go about fixing this. Being somewhere with a concrete, straightforward set of problems that he can work through with nowhere near as much pressure as back home? Will be a relief. It's the worst sort of vacation. Universe ended, someone else can pick up the pieces, he'll learn to fish and redevelop tech and maybe not end up an arms dealer on this planet. Clean slate. He'll throw himself into work and focus on being useful and productive, on protecting this smaller, much more manageable group of people from tangible, manageable threats.

Their environment being manipulated, possibly in strange or extraordinary ways, and possibly in ways which restrain them?

He had a moon thrown at him. A moon. Bring it, world. He's adaptable and any dismay, shock, terror, or visceral bone deep disbelief that he experiences can and will be repressed until things are back on the level and he's somewhere safe to decompress. Then there might be drinking or a work binge, that's usually how he handles his shit. In the moment? He's never had the luxury of freaking out, he can't afford it. If it's more extraordinary and less potentially threatening his inherent curiosity will get the better of him- he's a scientist at heart and wants to understand.

Being physically and/or mentally manipulated, such as having hallucinations or suddenly possessing special abilities they did not have before?

Hello last decade of Tony's life, how is this different again? Well the last bit is different but from Afghanistan onward as much as Tony tried to handle the circumstances of his brand new battery powered life being thrown at him, sudden changes to his body aren't entirely new, simply new flavors of 'well shit I didn't want this time to make the best of it'. Mental manipulation RE the Witch- it fucks with him a little. A lot. His mind is his greatest tool and it doesn't function as well as he'd like anyway (Hi ptsd, hi anxiety, hi depression) but he copes. Having that muddled with throws him off his game but as long as he's got something grounding to hold onto? He'll be able to adapt. Hallucinations are rough but he can try to rationalize his way through them and panic later when he's got a firm grasp of reality again.

Which, knowing now that reality is a thing someone can manipulate on a whim (Wanda, Thanos) is a little frightening and variable and will probably end with him drinking or working until he feels like he's got his feet on the ground. Suddenly abilities will- probably have him set up some sort of testing for it, try to find the degrees in which it works, what he can do- he's infinitely curious, experimenting with the powers, finding ways to apply them in ways that'll be A) Entertaining B) Productive? Probably a thing.
